How to Get Started with Suplex: Setup Guide for Day 1
You're ready to buy Suplex and start running cold email campaigns. This guide walks through everything from purchase to first email sent — step by step, in plain language. Most people are running their first campaign within the first hour.
Before You Buy: Which Plan?
Quick decision guide:
- Solo operator, testing the channel: Starter at $49/mo. 1 account, 1,500 leads/mo.
- Active rep or small team: Growth at $97/mo. 5 accounts, 7,500 leads/mo.
- Agency or need LinkedIn sourcing: Pro at $199/mo. 10 accounts, LinkedIn included.
- High-volume agency: Agency at $397/mo. Smartlead integration, 30,000 leads/mo.
Not sure? Start with Starter. You can upgrade at any time. See the full Suplex pricing guide for a detailed breakdown.
Step 1: Purchase and Download
Head to trysuplex.com, select your plan, and complete checkout. You'll get an email with your license key and a download link for your platform (Mac, Windows, or Linux).
Suplex is a desktop app. You'll download an installer file — no browser app, no cloud login. Your license key activates the app on your machine.
Step 2: Install and Activate
Run the installer for your platform. On Mac, drag to Applications. On Windows, run the .exe installer. On Linux, use the provided package. Launch Suplex and enter your license key when prompted.
Suplex stores everything in a local SQLite database. No account creation on a server. No data sent to a cloud. Your license key validates locally.
Step 3: Connect Your Sending Account
Go to Settings → Email Accounts. Add your Gmail, Outlook, or custom SMTP account. For Gmail: generate an App Password in Google Account settings (required for third-party apps). For Outlook: use your standard credentials or OAuth. For custom SMTP: enter your server, port, username, and password.
Important: Don't use your main business domain for cold outreach. Set up a sending domain (e.g., yourname-outreach.com) to protect your primary domain. Many operators run 2–3 sending accounts even on the Starter plan by using Google Workspace accounts at $6/mo each.
Step 4: Mine Your First Leads
Go to Lead Mining → Google Maps. Enter your target city (or zip code), industry category (e.g., "plumbing", "marketing agency", "dental office"), and radius. Click Mine. Suplex returns names, emails, phones, companies, websites, and review data.
Start narrow. Pick one city, one niche. Mine 200–500 leads to test your messaging before scaling to your full 1,500/mo limit. Quality targeting beats raw volume at the start.
Pro plan and above: You can also mine LinkedIn leads via Apify BYOK. Go to Settings → Apify and add your API key. LinkedIn mining returns job title, company, profile URL, and email where available at $0.025/lead.
Step 5: Verify Your Lead List
Before sending, verify your email list. Select your mined leads, click Verify. Suplex checks each address for deliverability. Bounced or risky addresses are flagged. Remove them before launching your campaign.
This step is non-negotiable. A 5% bounce rate can start damaging your sender score. Suplex's built-in verification protects your domains and keeps your deliverability healthy.
Step 6: Set Up Your Campaign
Go to Campaigns → New Campaign. Name it, select your verified lead list, and choose your sending account. Then configure the AI Campaign Strategist: set your tone (professional, casual, direct), focus area (their pain point you address), email length, and mode (Full AI or Hard Script with AI personalization).
The AI campaign strategist researches each lead's business — reviews, services, website — before writing. You're not sending templates. Each email references something specific about the lead's business.
Set your sending schedule: most operators use 30–50 emails/day per account. This keeps you under spam radar while maintaining consistent volume.
Step 7: Launch and Monitor
Preview 5–10 AI-generated emails before sending. Tweak the AI settings if the tone isn't right. When you're satisfied, launch the campaign. Monitor open rates and replies in the Inbox tab.
Replies come into Suplex's built-in inbox management. You can respond directly, tag leads, and track conversations. This replaces Missive/Front for outreach-focused inbox management.

What to Expect in Week 1
Cold email works on volume and patience. In week 1, focus on deliverability — keep volumes low, monitor for bounces, warm up your sending domain if it's new. By day 7 you should have open rate data. By day 14, you'll have replies to work from.
Most Suplex users who follow this process see their first qualified reply within 3–5 business days of launching their first campaign. The AI personalization makes a real difference — expect 2–3x better reply rates than generic templates.
